Dr. Salome Dubenetzky, Psy.D., Licensed Clinical Psychologist

I completed my Bachelors degree in Psychology at the University of San Diego, my Masters degree in Counseling Psychology at National University, and my Doctorate in Clinical Psychology at California Southern University. I also possess the following certifications:

• Certified Relationship Specialist
• Board Certified PTSD Clinician
• Registered Psychological Assistant
• (OES)- approved 56 hour Domestic Violence/ Sexual Assault Crisis Intervention Training Certification

I have experience working with diverse populations and cultures, as well as treating various issues. I specialize in treating such topics as depression, anxiety, low self-esteem and worth, as well as women’s issues such as reproductive and mental health, particularly pregnancy loss. As a Board Member of Empty Cradle, a member of the Postpartum Health Alliance, and a Peer support Specialist for the MISS Foundation, I feel that it is imperative that issues concerning pregnancy (infertility, pregnancy loss, subsequent pregnancy after loss, and mood disorders during and after pregnancy) be addressed and not coped with in silence and isolation.

I have also created and implemented the Mother to Mother Program which is an in-hospital based peer support program for parents who have endured loss. This program is currently being utilized at Kaiser Hospital and Scripps Encinitas Hospital in San Diego, and is currently being considered to be implemented in several other hospitals in Riverside County.

My passion for this field has also led me to publish an article on pregnancy loss titled, “Stillbirth: The psychosocial implications of an unrecognized issue,” which can be found in The Journal of Prenatal and Perinatal Psychology and Health. I hope that if these are issues that you are needing help with, that you reach out and know that you are not alone.

Often when people are coping with difficult issues in their lives, they do so in silence and seclusion. As a psychotherapist, I want my clients to know that they are not alone, and that there is hope. It is important that clients feel safe to express openly their feelings associated with the issues they are experiencing. It is vital that insight be gained into one’s behavior and how your thoughts and actions can affect the way you feel.

As a psychotherapist, I promise that your feelings will be recognized and validated, you will never be judged, and you will be supported throughout your journey. Often feelings of helplessness lead to hopelessness. I want you to know that these feelings can change, and be replaced by feelings of strength and excitement for the future.
